🇬🇧 After receiving my PhD, with the highest degree, from the University of Amsterdam in 2002, I have worked as a freelance art historian, under the name of Illuminare scribendo – Research and projects in Art History.
• I am a specialist in late medieval manuscript illumination, codicology and palaeography, with a focus on the manuscript tradition in the southern and northern Netherlands.
• I write and edit scholarly publications, I compile exhibition and collection catalogues for museum and private collectors, and I teach art history and manuscript studies to students, specialists and a general audience.

– research into books of hours and prayer books, liturgical, theological, protestant, and other types of manuscripts
– guest curator for exhibitions on manuscripts and/or medieval art

– editing 
– lectures
